About the Medical Cash Plan

Cash plans have been around for many years, and are especially popular at the moment given the rising costs of dental treatments, eye tests, specialist consultations and alternative therapies. So how do they work? Generally, they focus on a particular area of healthcare, like dental or optical cover. They normally have a choice of benefit levels offering different amounts of cover. The higher the level, the more cover you get, and so the higher the premium.

With the Medical Cash Plan, you choose the level of benefit you need, pay the monthly premium relating to your level of cover, and in return you claim cash back up to the maximum amount you’re covered for, once you’ve had your treatment.

The Medical Cash Plan is a simple health plan that will cover your routine healthcare expenses up to the amount of cover you choose.

  • Claim money back, up to set limits, towards prescription glasses, eye tests, contact lenses and more
  • Claim money back, up to set limits, for dental appointments and treatments, and more
  • Claim money back, up to set limits, for therapy treatments including physiotherapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, osteopathy and homeopathy
  • Claim money back towards GP-referred diagnostic consultations and treatments for you, your children and your partner
  • Receive cash payouts for hospital stays, day surgery (NHS or private) and for the arrival of a new baby
  • Cover for your children, on key benefits, is included at no extra cost

Whenever you’ve received any of the medical services below, simply send the claim teams valid proof. You’ll get money back to cover the amount you have incurred – up to the benefit limit.

With the medical cash plan there are 5 levels of cover to choose from. Each level of cover provides a wide range of cash benefits to protect you against healthcare costs.

Children can be covered at no extra cost on a shared benefit basis and will receive cover for Optical, Dental, Dental Accident and Hospital Benefits.

What's not included?

  • Claims for pre-existing conditions which you have had in the last 12 months, with the exception of optical and dental
  • Professional or semi professional sports people aren’t covered
  • If you’ve had cover with us in the last 2 years, your previous claims may be taken into account
